Gay Hayward approaches her real-estate practice with enthusiasm, as she has always loved architecture and is an amateur student of architectural history. She is especially interested in how buildings and interior design can fit the resident and reflect that resident's values. It is this aspect of residential real estate--the fit between the home and the person--about which Gay is most enthusiastic.

Gay brings to real estate a sincere desire to help people and an intense love of Chicago's South Side. She moved to Hyde Park over 30 years ago, where she raised three children and they, in turn, are also raising their children here. Gay recently bought new construction in Woodlawn and now lives in the midst of the South Side renaissance. As an urban mother and grandmother, Gay values safe, vital, diverse neghborhoods.

Besides being a Realtor, Gay is a registered nurse at the University of Chicago Hospitals and has been a labor negotiator with both the Hospitals and the University. She has found her long-term relationship with the University to be a valuable asset in real estate on the South Side. The U of C is a very influential institution and is the area's largest employer. Gay benefits from knowing many of the players at U of C and from being familiar with the priorities, practices, and policies of the organization.

As a nurse, Gay is experienced and comfortable dealing with people at critical times in their lives. As a nursing union negotiator, she learned the value of aggressive representation and developed the skills to reach an agreement good for both parties. Gay has found all these experiences and skills to be directly transferable to real estate and invaluable in her real-estate practice. She approaches both real estate and nursing from an educational, informational point of view. Perhaps her strongest asset as an agent is the sense of humor she has found to be so necessary in all her roles.

Gay is committed to delivering ethical real-estate services to well-informed clients. She would be pleased to work with you.
