Joel Leighton (almost always called "Bill") has been a homeowner in the Hyde Park/South Shore area since 1989. He and his wife have two sons who attend a local school. Bill has a keen interest in architecture and local history, particularly as reflected in the development of different areas of the South Side of Chicago. He has also developed a thorough understanding of the Building Code of Chicago and the Chicago Zoning Ordinance.

Due to his professional experience in real estate, Bill is able to identify potential problem areas in any transaction and to assist his clients in the selection of appropriate professionals--such as lawyers, mortgage brokers, and inspectors--to make the entire process run as smoothly as circumstances permit.

Bill enjoys working with both sellers and buyers. For sellers, he emphasizes correct pricing, stylish presentation, and aggressive marketing to insure the best possible placement in the market. For buyers, he works closely with his clients throughout the search process to help them define wants, narrow the field, find the perfect home, and negotiate and close the purchase.
